I was going through March 2009 issue of Seventeen magazine. They had a small feature ad on the cover page right below the cover picture that said Free Lip Gloss ( see pg 14).  I quickly flipped through the pages of this magazine that I recieve for free every month (I dont know why). The ad on pg 14 said it was Seventeen Reader Reward. The ad was for Wet n Wild (USA) and it said “10,000 Seventeen readers will win a free Speed Gloss Energizing Lip Shine from Wet n Wild.” To win the user has to go to their website.

My question to the readers of my blog :

• Do you participate in such free stuff offers?
• Why do companies give away free stuff?
• Is there a downside to participating in such offers?
• Do you actually get the free stuff advertised?
• Would they use my information for other marketing purposes?
